Amazon Bedrock is powerful AI infrastructure — if you’re on AWS and have engineers to build with it. osFoundry is a ready-to-use platform. Here’s an honest comparison for 2026. (dgm implements osFoundry as an independent partner; we’ll be fair to both.)

What each is

Amazon Bedrock is AWS’s managed foundation-model service: access 100+ models to build AI applications, with strong data control (“never shares your data with model providers or uses it to train”, KMS encryption). It’s infrastructure, cloud-locked to AWS, and developer-oriented.

osFoundry is a ready-to-use, cloud-neutral platform (chat, agents, apps, knowledge) you configure rather than build, self-hostable in AWS, GCP or Azure.

The key difference: build vs use

Bedrock gives you models and infrastructure — you (or your engineers) build the applications. osFoundry gives you a prebuilt platform you configure — less engineering to get value. If you have strong AWS engineering, Bedrock offers maximum flexibility; if you want faster business adoption, osFoundry’s prebuilt platform helps. (See build vs buy.)

Cloud and data

Bedrock is AWS-bound; osFoundry is cloud-neutral (self-host AWS/GCP/Azure). Both offer strong data control — Bedrock keeps data in your AWS environment; osFoundry self-hosts in your own cloud with your own KMS keys, or uses its EU region (US/EU/JP, no UK region). For strict UK residency, self-host in a UK/EU region either way.

Who each is best for

  • BedrockAWS-committed engineering teams building custom AI applications.
  • osFoundry — businesses wanting faster, configurable adoption and cloud-neutrality.

Complementary: osFoundry can run in your AWS account, using Bedrock-class models via bring-your-own-key.

Which should a UK business choose?

Strong AWS engineering, building custom AI? Bedrock. Want a ready-to-use, cloud-neutral platform? osFoundry — and dgm can help you evaluate and implement.
