Public bodies can adopt AI to do more under budget pressure — but within procurement, transparency and equality rules. dgm provides public sector AI consultancy for UK bodies on osFoundry. (dgm is an independent integration partner; osFoundry is a separate company’s product. General information, not legal advice.)

What we do

We help public bodies adopt AI within the rules:

  • the Procurement Act 2023;
  • the AI Playbook’s 10 principles;
  • the ATRS transparency standard;
  • the Public Sector Equality Duty; and
  • UK GDPR — especially for sensitive data.

We build AI with transparency, human oversight and data control designed in. (See selling AI to the UK public sector.)

The biggest barrier: scoping

Per LGA research, project scoping — knowing where AI adds value — is the public sector’s top barrier. So a clearly-scoped, proportionate use case is half the battle. We help define valuable, low-risk use cases (back-office, enquiries, knowledge retrieval) and prove them before scaling. (See AI for local councils.)

Transparency and data control

We build AI with the transparency an ATRS record needs — clear descriptions of how it works, what data it uses, the human oversight — plus audit logging and data control (self-hosting or an EU region for data sovereignty; osFoundry publishes US/EU/JP regions, not a UK one). osFoundry’s visual configuration makes systems describable, supporting AI Playbook alignment and ATRS.

Procurement is separate

Framework procurement (e.g. G-Cloud) is a separate process — we’d work with your procurement specialists. We focus on getting the AI right so it’s deployable once procured.

Engagement and pricing

A fixed-fee assessment and roadmap, then a monthly engagement, with no per-seat fees. Scope depends on the body and use cases — contact us for a quote.

dgm is an independent integration partner with zero integrations so far — and not a procurement or legal adviser; take qualified advice. To scope public-sector AI, book a consultation with dgm. General information; scope and pricing per project.
